Message from the Chair, Michael T. Amato — Investing in the Only Foundation That Supports the Future of the Profession
Welcome to our third newsletter of 2015 from the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF), which is dedicated to promoting respiratory health through the support of research, education, and patient-focused philanthropic activities in respiratory care. This issue is focused on the Foundation efforts and activities to achieve its Mission through the first nine months of 2015.
It has been a busy year for the ARCF as we continue our efforts to raise funds in support of the respiratory care profession. We are set to embark on our key fundraising activity in Tampa at AARC Congress with our 3rd Annual Fundraiser – A Night on the Bay. The 3-hour cruise sold out all 320 seats in early August and should be an exciting evening of dining, amazing prizes and fellowship on the waters of Tampa Bay.
In this edition of the ARCF Newsletter, you will find a brief summary of 2015 Trustee meetings, as well as, four articles that highlight past ARCF Award winners and two additioaln articles that introduce some of our new Trustees in 2015.
Finally, I want to thank all of you for your time, efforts, energy and financial support of the ARCF. Without each of you in the respiratory care community, we could not accomplish our Mission as a foundation. But we want to remind you that while our fundraisers are exciting and fun events, you can donate to the ARCF year-round and in many cases, it is a tax-deductible donation. Please consider supporting the ARCF that supports you—the respiratory therapist.
