A Message from the Chair, Michael T. Amato: Closing Out 2015 on a High Note
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2015 from the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF), which is dedicated to promoting respiratory health through the support of research, education, and patient-focused philanthropic activities in respiratory care. This issue is focused on the Foundation’s efforts and activities to achieve its Mission over the last three months of 2015.
It has been an incredibly busy and successful year for the ARCF as we continued our efforts to recognize outstanding respiratory therapists and raise funds in support of the respiratory care profession.
We successfully held our key fundraising activity at the AARC Congress in Tampa with our 3rd Annual Fundraiser – A Night on the Bay. The three-hour cruise sold out all 320 seats in early August and was an exciting evening of dining, amazing prizes, and fellowship on the waters of Tampa Bay.
In this edition of the ARCF Newsletter, you will find brief summaries of the fundraiser, our International Fellows, and the ARCF Awards and Scholarships handed out in Tampa, along with one additional article that introduces a new Trustee in 2015.
Finally, I want to thank all of you for your time, efforts, energy, and financial support of the ARCF. Without each of you in the respiratory care community, we could not accomplish our Mission as a foundation. But we want to remind you that while our fundraisers are exciting and fun events, you can donate to the ARCF year round, and in many cases it is a tax-deductible donation as we wind down 2015.
Please consider supporting the ARCF that supports you — the respiratory therapist.
